It's New Year's Eve Day, and as promised, here are my best blogs of 2005:
Best self-improvement blog - Steve Pavlina
If you haven't read any of Steve's posts, I strongly encourage you to do so soon. Whether it's how to give up coffee, his on-going experiment with polyphasic sleep, or anything else, you're sure to find something that hits you right in the gut at Steve's site.
Best Community and best management blog - Rosa Say's Talking Story hosts the Ho'ohana Online Community
Talking Story is my favorite place to hang out. Each blogger has something unique they bring to the table, and you can surf for hours and learn a ton and never leave one of the folks in the Talking Story community. In the essence of full disclosure, I am a member of this community, and I've learned a TON from each blogger in this community, and continue to learn a lot, from the seasoned folks in this group. I could list them all here for you to read, but I encourage you to stop over yourself, and poke through them yourself and see what you find that interests you. They're always listed on the right side of the blog.
Best business blog - Wayne Hurlbert's Blog Business World
Wayne shares his passion for making the world a more search engine optimized place and welcomes everyone to his site with some very interesting insights. His post today on the simplicity of blogging connections is one of many reasons I frequent Wayne's site.
Best communications blog - Scott Ginsberg is That Guy With the Nametag
Scott has some great tips on how to more approachable, how to meet more people, and overall, just how to communicate better.
Best book blog - 800-CEO-READ blog
Jack, Todd, and company over at 800-CEO-READ offer some great book reviews, insights, and other great stuff on their blog.
Best marketing blog - Ron McDaniel's Buzzoodle
Ron always has great ideas on how to get more word of mouth advertising, and his recently posted 10 Buzz Marketing Challenges was nothing short of brilliant!
Best relationship-builder blog - Keith Ferrazzi's Never Eat Alone
From the book of the same name, the master relationship-builder shares his tips and tricks with us on his fabulous blog.
Best post-career blog - David St. Lawrence's Ripples
David offers some straight-forward common sense advice about how to live life after you're out of the corporate world, and even if you are still in the corporate world, his insights are incredibly helpful.
Best Passion Blog - Curt Rosengren's The Occupational Adventure
Curt shares some great tips on how to find and follow our passion, and his insight has really helped me in my journey as I define my personal greatness.
Best Productivity Blog - Merlin Mann's 43 Folders
Admittedly geared a bit towards folks with Macs (I don't have one yet), though many of the tips, tricks, and hacks here you can use with whatever productivity system you're using.
Best Customer Service Blog - Patrick Lamb's In Search of Perfect Client Service
Patrick offers some great tips on how to offer your clients better client service, and though he focuses on the lawyer community, his tips can be applied universally.
Best Blog You've Never Heard Of (but you better check it out before he's on CNN) - David Lorenzo's Career Intensity Blog
Dave puts out some of the most amazing insights and tips on how to be a better "workplace warrior" and entrepeneur.
Best Photoblog - Sam Javanrouh's Daily Dose of Imagery
Sam takes some amazing pictures that often make me go WOW! You can buy your favorites from Sam too, which I will do in 2006 (I just haven't had the spare cash to do so yet)
Best "duh" blog - Jodee Bock's You Already Know This Stuff
Jodee puts together a great group of posts that make me go "Duh!" because they are often things I've thought before, but never articulated in quite the same way as Jodee puts them together. I've stopped wearing my glasses when I read this site because I find myself knocking them off when I smack myself on the forehead WAY too often.
I hope you enjoy these blogs, and the other blogs I have that help me make it great, which will always be listed on the left hand side of my blog! Here's to an even greater 2006! May you do or be as much or as little as you want to this coming year, and thanks for stopping by and for all your support, encouragement, and feedback. See you in 2006!

Aloha Phil, and thank you. Talking Story truly has become what it is because of the Ho‘ohana Community, and therefore I love the way that you have phrased this recognition for the entire ‘ohana we have there.
Phil, you absolutely share in this honor, for your positive, uplifting, and energizing spirit has had a magnificent effect on all of us at Talking Story, so for your spirit and light - and your ho‘ohana to make life great, we have a deep sense of mahalo.
Aloha e, Rosa
