Gratefully Yours, Phil Gerbyshak

Season of Gratitude Series

I've decided to share some of what I am grateful for. This list is not all encompassing, and I know I will miss more than a few things.

So here goes:
  • I'm grateful for God's grace. It's the only reason I'm not smote dead when I wake up every morning. I don't stop to reflect on this often enough, but I am eternally grateful for this.
  • I'm grateful that my wife doesn't work every night, second shift, at the hospital. She works often enough that I miss her dearly when she's gone, but it's not every night, and it really helps with the bills. Thank you honey!
  • I'm grateful that the house I live in is large enough I can move around in it, and yet it's small enough that it doesn't take more than a few hours to clean.
  • I'm grateful my car starts every morning so I can get to work.
  • I'm grateful I have 2 parents that are alive and healthy, 2 brothers that I love very much, 2 sisters-in-law that keep my brothers in line, and 2 almost nieces/nephews (I'm pulling for boys, but would love boys OR girls).
  • I'm grateful I have 1 grandmother still alive and kicking, though she can't see anymore she still talks to me on the phone once a week or so.
  • I'm grateful my wife has a father and grandmother that live in Milwaukee that we see from time to time, that she has an aunt and uncle that are like parents to us, and that she has other family that we see from time to time as well. You can't have too much family.

  • I'm grateful for all my friends here in Milwaukee, who support everything I do, who believe in me more than I do sometimes, and that are my biggest cheerleaders. You all are amazingly wonderful, and I am blessed to have you in my life.
  • I'm grateful to have a great job, at a great company, with great managers that lead me, and great associates that I am grateful to serve as their manager. Thank you for the opportunity.
  • I'm grateful for all the folks I have met blogging, since March 4, 2005. If I listed you all, this post would literally go on for 5 pages. If you've ever left a comment or sent me an e-mail, you are a blessing to me. (Yes, even the spammers bless me, with some much needed patience).
  • I'm grateful to all the people who helped me get my first book published, and to all of you who are helping or who will be helping me with my second one. I couldn't do it without each and every one of you.
  • Last, and definitely not least, I am grateful for all you fine folks that read this blog and never comment. I hope that I have touched you with my writing in some small way, and that sometime, when you're ready, you will let me know this. Every person that reads my blog is a blessing, though we may never meet.

As I said, that's just a short list. There are MANY more things I'm grateful for. What about you? In this season of gratitude, what are YOU thankful for?

[Thanksgiving time is a time to recognize our abundance, and give thanks to those who give so much. Phil Gerbyshak is especially thankful for all those who serve in the military today, as he served and realized that was not his calling.]

Phil,

I am grateful for Make it Great! and for you!!

So glad we're geekin' through the blogosphere together these days and can't wait to see what goodness unfolds from the MM group.

Thanks for sharing your gratitudes with us all...

Keep it passionate yo,
Kam

And, here's the real point/value of the above post - none of it involves making or having large sums of money! Or being famous. We should all remember to be grateful for what we have and what we see around us.

I'm curious though - just what have you done to deserve a "smoting?" ;-)

Phil, that is a very impressive list and it tells me a lot about you and your values. Thank you for sharing :)

We could all stand to be a little more grateful now and again.

Gratitude is the white lines
that keep me on the road of life. :)

Thank you for sharing.
