Recently I was fortunate to correspond with Bob Prosen, the author of the new book "Kiss Theory Goodbye," what I know will be a breakthrough book for anyone who reads it. I've not had time to finish the whole book, but everyone I've talked to who has read this book absolutely LOVED it.
I am giving away 2 copies of Bob's book starting the evening of December 7th, so for now, I'll share our interview question to prime your thirst for more of the wonder that is Bob Prosen.
Phil: Please share with my readers: What's the best piece of advice you've ever gotten?
Bob: The best advice came from my mother when she said: “Robert, you can do anything you want to do.” What would YOU attempt to do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
Phil: GREAT answer! OK, here's a tough one for you. What would you call your life's biggest success?
Bob: Creating wonderful memories for my children.
Phil: There's no stumping you! Last question (because I know you are SUPER busy!) What advice (in just a few sentences) do you have for aspiring leaders (other than of course reading your masterful book)?
Bob: I have two points of advice.
1.) Figure out what you LOVE to do, and have the courage to do it. We only have one performance in life, make it your best!
2.) When given the chance, always hire and surround yourself with smarter people. Doing so allows you to spend time doing the things you love.
Phil: Awesome stuff Bob, thanks so much for your time and insights!
If you can't wait a few hours (and I understand if you can't, I expect this book to be that good!), go pick up your own copy of Kiss Theory Goodbye right now. If you can wait, I'll be offering a way to win 1 of 2 copies of this great book in just a few hours. You can also read Toby Bloomberg's much longer interview with Bob if you'd like to learn more about the man and the book.
[Phil Gerbyshak hasn't kissed theory goodbye yet, but after reading this book, he just might!]

Hi Phil, I loved your interview with Bob Prosen! Especially your focus on advice that he's received or given. I just interviewed Bob too over at the SmartLemming.com. We discuss younger CEOs and might find his answers interesting.
