What makes my heart sing?

Hilda Carroll tagged me to share a song that makes my heart sing. So many songs, so little time. So I must pick just one...
So what's the one song that ALWAYS makes me sing?
It's got to be...
Eddie Rabbit - I Love A Rainy Night
3 reasons this song makes my heart sing
- My mom used to play it all the time at the tavern she tended bar at when I was growing up. I'd listen to this song in my head LONG after we headed for home.
- It takes rain, which I normally don't like, and makes it fun. If I'm driving around and it's raining, and I can get my brain to sing this song, or one of the oldies stations plays it, I get in a MUCH better mood than I would have been in otherwise.
- It's easy to sing along to. The words are simple, and they rhyme, and they're fun.
Here's the lyrics to I Love A Rainy Night if you want to sing along.
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Well, I love a rainy night
It's such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
Taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow
Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Ooh-ooh
I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Well, I love a rainy night
It's such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
To taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadows
Puts a song
In this heart of mine
Puts a smile on my face every time
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Ooh, I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Ooh-ooh
[Instrumental Interlude]
Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, it makes me high
Ooh, I love a rainy night
You know I do, yeah, yeah
I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes.

So who am I tagging to share their song that makes their heart sing? How about the Sixpence None the Richer: Dave Olson, Yvonne DiVita, Kent Blumberg, Sandy Renshaw, Troy Worman (who just started Meme Carnival) and Dawud Miracle. OK, they're not Sixpence None the Richer, but they ARE 6 awesome people who I know will share with gusto!
Play along if you like, or start your own game of tag. It's all good fun.

Thanks for the tag, Phil. I posted my heart singer at on!

Hi Phil, I remember that song. It was vey popular. I wonder what ever happened to Eddie Rabbit.
There are so many songs that I like and smile at but I will say that "Roll Me Away" by Bob Seeger, makes me cry and my heart sing at the same time.
It takes me away.

Troy - Love your song too. Thanks for playing along.
Carma - No idea what happened to Eddie. That'd be a great "Whatever happened to?" on VH1 perhaps.
Roll me Away is a beautiful song too. I'm a big Seger fan. Night Moves, Hollywood Nights, all great stuff!

Phil,
I LOVE that song! And here in Australia, where we are in the middle of a terrible, terrible drought, we really do LOVE a rainy night.
Isn't it interesting how we each have a song (or three) that bring back those sweet memories and make us sing, and lift us up no matter what mood we were in before? Here's to lifting our hearts with song.

Karen: - Thank you! Songs do fill us with joy if we let them.

Hi Phil,
Thanks so much for playing along with this. I'm only just now getting to follow this up, and I'm really enjoying it. This is a new song to me, and I'm delighted to have discovered it, so thanks for that too!
Will let you know when the compilation is complete.
All the best,
Hilda
