What's in your glass? The Starbucker Meme
Terry Starbucker recently asked me (and many of his other friends) in the appropriately titled Starbucker Meme:
- How full is your glass?
- What kind of glass is it?
- What's in the glass?
- Reasons for #1, #2, and #3
All excellent questions Terry, and ones I'm glad to share the answers to.

This is my glass, and my coffee pot, and some coffee to share
- My glass is overflowing and my coffee pot is about 40% full.
- My glass is actually a travel mug.
- It's full of coffee, and a little bit of creamer.
- My glass is overflowing because of great friends like the ones I met at SOBCon, the ones I have met in my other travels, and my friends that read this blog that I have yet to meet in person. My coffee pot is 40% full because I love to share good coffee with good friends, and I love to have coffee myself. Of course, my cup is a travel mug, because I love to take the Make It Great! show on the road and visit with all of you great people, even if it's just down to the Alterra coffee by the lake in downtown Milwaukee. Coffee is my elixir; it warms my heart, it connects me to people, and yes, it gives me energy. And the little bit of creamer is because I don't feel like I'm old enough to drink coffee yet.
Who am I tagging? I was never good at tag. Really. Even though there are some memes I've been tagged 4 times, and I've tried to tag out of it and keep being it, I'm still not very good. Oh well, worth a try.
Ollie ollie oxen free, won't my friends come play with me? How about Kim and Jason (who I know both LOVE to play tag and other fun kids' games), Derrick, Leo, Nneka, Pet, and Deb(bie)?
And anyone else who wants to be tagged.
Won't you all come play with me?!?

A very nice glass you've got there, Phil. I'm going to participate in this meme, although I was not invited. But I promised you to stop lurking around. I'll tell you what you can find in my glass (which is full, yes!): salsa. Not the sauce, the rhythm. You cannot really see the glass, because it's not meant to be seen. It's made of dreams and hopes and a touch of jade. Those who are not familiar with these elements are inclined to believe that my glass holds a bitter drink. But salsa is not bitter. It’s a paradox: the verses are sad, the rhythm is happy: joy of life, desire, aspiration. And the reasons for the above are… one: believing in people. No matter what.

Thanks Mihaela - You were definitely invited, by the fact you read the article. Salsa is a great choice. I'd have never thought of it as a paradox, but now, WOW! Thanks for sharing!

Ah yes, Alterra - that is fantastic coffee Phil, especially when you can enjoy a cup (or two) with a friend! Thanks so much for responding to the tag - I really like your answer - so "Phil-like". Look forward to that next coffee my man! All the best.
