2007 was a great year for me personally, no doubt about it. I did a second version of my book (thanks to the folks at Purple Wren for your expertise) I made a ton of new friends, got to meet a ton of you in person and on the phone or via Skype, and I look forward to many more years of friendship and collaboration in the future.
As the year is over (holy crap, was that fast!), I did a bit of analysis on my stats for the past year, and I found that there are a LOT of people to thank for all the traffic they sent my way via link love. While I would probably still write even if nobody read my work, it's a LOT more fun knowing that you do read my work, and that for the most part, you enjoy my work enough to share it with your readers, leave comments, and come back for more.
A few things I learned about getting more page views in 2007:
- Joining a blog network is a good thing. Many of my most popular linkers back are from the Positive Blog Network that I am a part of.
- Faces and smiles are GREAT for traffic - My traffic went WAY UP after I added MyBlogLog. Folks do click back from your short feed there (if you write interesting headlines)
- Even if you don't know how to use some of the social networking sites, sometimes you get lucky and one of your readers will submit your story for you.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: There are readers, and there are contributors. While I love both types of people, I love you most when you leave comments or send me an e-mail, even if it's a "Hey, thanks for writing" or a "Hey, I totally disagree with what you said." Let me know you're out there if you care to! I'd love to be friends!
So here is a list, in order of traffic, of everyone who sent readers my way in 2007, according to the logs of my favorite way to get to know each of you, MyBlogLog.

Other ways I got a bit of traffic this year:
- http://stumbleupon.com (thank you Corinne Edwards for submitting seveal of my posts)
- http://lifehack.shoutingmat.ch - Thanks for whomever submitted my site here
- LOTS of traffic from my friends at MyBlogLog (thanks to everyone who has added me to your community and who clicks back to visit me)
- http://news.MySpace.com (I submitted my feed to their news site, in the self-improvement category)
- The Good Blogs
- http://www.awesomemillion.com/uses.html (thank you Lora!)
- Google searches for: Make It Great, Phil Gerbyshak, and so many other terms I can't begin to tell you.
- Technorati searches for everything under the sun
- A few Yahoo searches for various stuff
And that's it. My books are officially closed on 2007, and I can move forward into 2008 feeling GREAT that I thanked those who I need to thanks.
Now...

Phil,
As always, I appreciate your kindness, generosity and especially the tremendous effort you put into the Make It Great blog.
Here's looking forward to a great 2008!
Cheers,
Brad

Hey Phil, I'm always amazed by the good work you do - oh, not amazed in "how does he do that?" or even, "why does he do that?" but more like, "I call this great guy my friend. How kewl is that?" Keep up the smiles and great advice. You're the tops!

Phil, you are an extraodinary writer and even a better communicator.
Glad it has been a great success for you this year.
Looking forward to even better things!
We are watching and rooting for you in this personal growth community - as you contine to support all of us.
And as we support each other!
Warmly,
Corinne
